About Mandy Rose
Mandy Rose was born and raised in a railroad town that only occasionally had one stop sign, to a cocktail of European immigrant farming families. She is considered a typical Canadian mutt by normal standards but is grateful for everything each heritage brings to her work and personality.

She began drawing, reading and writing before she started school and has been teaching herself the finer points of each craft ever since.

Mandy Rose and her family live in an old farm house in a small farming town in Southern Alberta, only a few minutes from where she grew up, where she's always creating something.
The Artist's Mind
I love stories--reading them, looking at them, imagining them, and trying to create them. In everything I do, whether with words or pictures, my intent is to tell a story.
I am fascinated by rural life, and how the layers of the past and present intertwine. My favourite artistic element is the play of light and shadow and how the two merge and can’t exist without the other. I find that art, like life, really lives in the shades of grey and nuances between black and white. ​
